Transcriber's Notes:

* Indicates there is a transcriber's note for this passenger.
? Indicates a character (letter or number) that is in question.

2 Thomas Andrew Osborn (1836-1898) was a lawyer, politician and diplomat. He served
as the U.S. minister to Brazil from 1881 to 1885. This was likely his voyage home
    from that commission.
4 Christopher Columbus Andrews (1829-1922) was an attorney, author, soldier,
politician, and diplomat. He worked his way from Private to Major General in the
Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. He served as Consul General to Brazil from
1882 to 1885. This was probably his voyage home from that commission. You can read
    more about him at:
    http://www.famousamericans.net/christophercolumbusandrews/
    http://www.picturehistory.com/find/p/3845/mcms.html
24 Albert Friedenthal was a noted pianist, author, and linguist. He was known for his
concert work in the U.S., Germany, and South America.
28-31 No first name or gender is given for these children.
37-38 The occupation looks like 'hatter', although the third letter is not crossed.
39 The occupation looks like machinest. The only letters that are not very clear are
those after the 'e,' (which is definitely an 'e').
43-46 There are no ages listed for these four passengers.

Captain James R. Beers served on the U.S.S. Stettin as Acting Master during the U.S.
Civil War in 1863, and on the U.S.S. Penguin as Acting Lieutenant in 1865
    (http://nautarch.tamu.edu/PROJECTS/denbigh/Daybyday.htm).
He died September 2, 1904, at the age of 66 (obituary-
