Bark Wild Gazelle
I, C. Lewis, Master of the Bk Wild Gazelle, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Bk at Shanghi, from which Port the said (blank) has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God. (Signature) C. Lewis.
Sworn to this 14th March 1868,
Before me. (Signature) W ? C????y, D.C.
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Bk Wild Gazelle whereof (blank) is Master, from Shanghi, burthen 415 10/100 tons.

1* Alex Dubury 27 Male ? U.S. U.S. Cabin 2 H.C. Perkins 35 Male Seaman U.S. U.S. Cabin Transcriber's Notes: A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed definitely. An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer. 1 Immediately beneath the name of this passenger, "Alex Dubury" is a name which appears to be "J. Smith". The name "J. Smith" might represent the person who signed the manifest or it may be a part of passenger "Alex Dubury's" name, i.e., "Alex Dubury J. Smith". Passenger's Occupation is clear, but appears to be written as "Lur", the meaning of which is unknown to the transcriber.
