I, J E Jansen, Master of the Bark Virginia of Bremen, do solemnly swear that the annexed list contains the names of all the passengers, to the best of my knowledge and belief, who have been taken aboard the said Barq at Bremen or any other foreign port or at sea and brought in the said vessel into any District of the United States since its departure from Bremen.

Another strange thing about this document is the use of "Bridegroom" on the man's line
and just below on the woman's line the word "of". There are quite a few couples
described that way. I've simplified it to Husband & Wife. It makes you wonder if the
Captain got carried away and had a mass marriage ceremony on the voyage.
[ISTG Captain's Note: While the transcriber simplified the terms "bridegroom of" we
are aware that at least one couple did not marry until they reached their destination.
I have attached scans of the original document for further clarification.]

Correspondence 06/29/2005 passengers #6-13 Amberg
Line 6, Johannes Amberg, is my 2nd great grandfather. Line 8, Johannes (2), is Johannes' son and his age
should be about 23 as he was born in 1824. The ages on the others appear to be correct.
The family went from Baltimore to Portsmouth, Ohio. Subsequently Johannes (2), married and
they moved to Lincoln, Illinois. Lincoln was where my father was raised and he
moved to Quincy Illinois where I was raised. I now live in Lakewood, Colorado.
