Bremen Bark Union
I, J Horstmann Master of the Bremen Bark Union do solenmly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me to the Collector of Customs for the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board said Bark at Bremen from which port said Bark has now arrived; and on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country to which each intends to become an inhabnitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. Bremen Bark Union
The UNION was built and launched 6 Sept 1854 in Bremen, Germany. It displaced
408 Tons of water, and measured 36.2 x 8.7 x 4.6 meters (length x width at the
Beam x depth of hold). Johann Horstmann was one of the co owners of the Bark
which was engaged in the emigrant trade until about 1872.
