Ship Rhine
I, Peter C. Kommerling, Master of the Ship Rhine, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Rhine at London, from which Port the said Rhine has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, the country in which they intend to become inhabitants, and the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage. Since no one died during the voyage, this column is omitted in this transcription.

definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
3 Surname is recorded as "Bjorson", but might possibly be "Bjornson" or "Bjornsen".
4 Surname is recorded as "Scheider", but might possibly be "Schneider".
5 Surname is possibly "Blushli" or "Blurbli".
7-8 Surname is recorded as "Coley", but might possibly be "Colley" or "Cooley".
9 Surname is recorded as "Donnavan", but might possibly be spelled "Donovan".
10 Surname is either "Sipe" or "Sife".
13 Although recorded as "Marcks" or "Marchs", surname is probably "Marks", the same
as passenger number 11 who is likely her mother.
14-15 Surname is recorded as "O'Conner", but might possibly be "O'Connor".
16 Surname appears to be written as "Runchman", but might possibly be "Bunchman".
18 Occupation appears to be written as "Stoken", but might possibly be "Stoker",
one who tends a furnace and supplies it with fuel such as in a marine boiler
or steam locomotive.
19 Letters of surname are poorly formed and cannot be deciphered with certainty.
Surname appears to begin with "St" or "T" followed by "a" or "ei" followed by
the final letter "l". Surname is possibly "Stal", "Steil", Tal" or "Teil".
