Brig Pleiades


Newport, Wales to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
2 August 1836

Report or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the Brig Pleiades whereof Benjamin R. Welch is Master, from Newport, Wales burthen 284 11/95 tons and owned by Freeman Clark & others of Bath and bound to Philadelphia.
I, Benjamin R. Welch do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Philadelphia contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the passengers which were on board the Brig Pleiades at the time of her sailing from the port of Newport or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present, and have been during the voyage, master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true.

Transcriber's Notes:

There are two nearly identical lists for this brig.  The only differences for the 
two lists are as follows:

   The owner's name in the introductory statement is F. Clark on one and Freeman 
   Clark on the other.

   #14  The first name is Ebenezer on one list and Ebazer or Eleazer on the second
   list.
