Ship Manhattan

30 May 1860
Liverpool, England to New York
Although this ship is known to have arrived in New York on 30 May 1860 "with mdse and 600 passengers" from Liverpool, England, we have been unable to locate a passenger list in the National Archives. We believe it might be misfiled in the microfilm. If anyone has access to this passenger list, or finds it in their research, please contact us. Thank you.

Below is a copy of The NY Times Marine Intelligence section, listing the arrival of the Ship Manhattan on 30 May 1860.

My ggrandparents Patrick and Bridget Howley both born Mayo Ireland,
arrived in N.Y. aboard the Manhattan 30 May 1860. They came on from
N.Y. to settle in the district of Peterborough Ontario later in the same
year. Ship name and date of arrival was confirmed Patrick and recorded
by US immigration at a border crossing from Windsor to Detroit, which I
was able to view at LDS. John Howley

Please contact our Research Coordinator if you have any information on the voyage
