DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, G.S. Stuck, Master of the Bark Jacob do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of the City of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Capetown from which Port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the calling of each of said passengers, the location of the compartment or space occupied by each during the passage, the country of citizenship of each, and also the destination or location intended by each; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also of the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a projected sojourn in this country. So help me God. (signed) G.S. Stuck. Sworn to this June 24, 1884, before me. (signed) ????????
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Bk. Jacob whereof G.S. Stuck is Master, from Capetown, burthen 613 tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, calling, the country of which they are citizens, intended destination or location, location of compartment or space occupied, and number of pieces of baggage. The column with heading "transient or in transit or intending protracted sojourn" had no entries and was omitted in this transcription. Transcriber's Notes:

An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting
of the manifest or something that the reader should note.

A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be
  transcribed definitely.

1-7 Although clearly written as "Stearage", the recorder likely meant "Steerage".
3 Surname is either "Mikich" or "Nikich".
4 Last letter of surname is not clearly written. Surname appears more likely to be
"Runal", and less likely to be "Runat".
6 Second letter of surname is not clearly written. The letter might be an "o" or
even no letter at all, just a fancy swirl at the end of the leading letter.
Therefore, surname could be "Rodevich" or "Roodevich".
8 First letter of middle name is possibly though not certainly "A" followed by "i".
Next letter is either "a" or "ce" followed by "she". Name is possibly "Aiashe" or
     "Aiceshe" or something similar.
9 Surname might be either "Coppian" or "Coppion".
