SS Hibernia
I, Robt D Monro, Master of the Steamship "Hibernia", do solemnly, sincerely, and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said S.S. Hibernia at Glasgow and Moville, from which Ports the said S.S. "Hibernia" has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God.
(Signature) R.D. Monro.
Sworn to this March 3 1868, before me. (Signature) ?????????, D.C..
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Steamship "Hibernia" whereof Robt D Monro is Master, from Glasgow and Moville, burthen 1317 tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, and the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage. Since all the passengers intend to become inhabitants of the "United States", and no one died during the voyage, these two columns are omitted in this transcription.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbered all the passengers consecutively 1 through 171, even
though the recorder of the original manifest did not number the passengers.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber use the symbol (^) to indicate that
the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Tho^s for Thomas, Sam^l for Samuel,
W^m for William, etc. Othertimes, the recorder abbreviates names by writing the
first few letters, skipping letters and then adding the final letter of the name,
i.e., Patk for Patrick, Margt for Margaret, Thos for Thomas, etc..
The recorder of the manifest lists all the Irish surnames normally beginning "Mac"
as beginning instead with "Mc".
6 Surname is either "Bourke" or "Burke".
13 The manifest is damaged in the area of this passenger's name rendering the given
name impossible to decipher as no letter of the name is visible. Only the top
most part of the surname is visible and the name appears to begin with "W" followed
by perhaps an "i" (but only the dot is visible) followed by double "l" followed by
other letters impossible to decipher because of the damage. Surname is possibly
though not definitely "Williams".
14-16 There is damage to the manifest in the area of the passenger's surname rendering
the last half difficult to decipher with certainty, but name appears to be "Conlin".
17 Although written as "McDonugh", surname might actually be "McDonagh" or "McDonough".
23 Although written as "Moclare", surname might actually be "Moclair".
24 Although written as "Dimond", surname might actually be "Diamond".
26-27 Capital letter following "Mc" in surname is probably though not definitely "F"
followed by either "all" or "ull" resulting in surname being "McFall" or "McFull".
41-42 Although written as "Folun", surname might actually be "Follin" or "Fallon".
74 Passenger's Sex is clearly recorded as "Male", likely a recording error, since her
given name and an Occupation entry of "None" strongly implies a "Female".
76 Passenger's Sex is clearly recorded as "Male", likely a recording error, since her
given name and an Occupation entry of "None" strongly implies she is "Female" and
probably the wife of passenger number 75.
77 Passenger's Age is overwritten and difficult to decipher, but Age is possibly 23 or 53.
80 Although written as "Gullacher" or "Gublacher", surname is possibly "Gallacher" or
more likely "Gallagher".
98-99 Although recorded as "Henigan", surname might actually be "Hennigan".
102 Although recorded as "McCullogh", surname is possibly "McCullagh" or "McCullough".
116-122 Surname appears to be either "Muson" or "Merson", or perhaps even "Munson".
123 Surname appears to be either "Winne" or "Winrie".
126 Surname is either "Curruth" or "Carruth".
137 First letter of given name is unclear, but appears to be "I" followed by a letter so
faint that it is not readable followed by three letter which appears to be "anu".
Capital letter following "Mc" in surname is probably though not definitely "F"
followed by "edris" resulting in surname being "McFedris".
138 Passenger's Occupation appears to be "BR Bonder" or "BR Binder", but might be
"BK Binder" implying "Book Binder".
168 Surname appears to be "McCulloch", but might be "McCullach".
171 Surname is either "Herdon" or "Hordon".
