Ship Hermann
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Ship Hermann whereof G. Schweers is Master, from Bremen, burthen (blank) tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, and sex. Since no entries are recorded in the Occupation column, the country to which all the passengers belong is "Germany", the country of which all the passengers (except number 78 listed in the Transcriber's Notes) intend to become inhabitants is the "United States", and no one died during the voyage, these four columns are omitted in this transcription.

Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcribers numbered the passengers consecutively 1-115, even though they are
not numbered in the original manifest.
The recorder of the manifest abbreviated most given names by writing only the first
few letters of the name. Other times he abbreviated given names by writing the first
few letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcribers use the symbol (^) to indicate that
the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Joh^a for Johanna, Henr^e for Henriette, etc.
The recorder did not use ditto marks to indicate "same as above". Many surname and sex
entries are left blank and the reader is confronted with the problem of
interpreting the recorder's intended meaning. The transcribers use the surname of the
passenger above for cases of children whose surname is left blank, and use the sex last
entered for a passenger above, and correlate this interpretation with whether the
passenger has a masculine or feminine given name.
There are no entires in the column for passengers' Occupations. Instead, the
statement "Not given" is recorded in the column.
2 Surname is either "Dohrmann" or "Dahrmann".
3 Surname is either "Bomann" or "Bamann".
15 Surname appears to be written as "Rase", but might be "Rose".
16-17 Surname appears to be "Henning", but might be "Herming".
19 Surname is either "Barch" or "Borch".
29 Surname appears to be written as "Mavkert", but might be "Markert".
64 Middle letters of surname are not clearly formed and could be "aa", "ao", "oo", or
"oa" followed by the final letter which is either "g" or "z". Possible surname
includes "Maag", "Maaz", "Maog", "Maoz", "Moog", "Mooz", "Moag" or "Moaz".
65 Last letters are not clearly formed, but surname appears to be either "Brunnenkams"
or "Brunnenkaws".
66 Surname is possibly "Harn", "Horn", "Haun" or "Houn".
67-68 Surname appears to be either "Schramm" or "Schraurm".
69-70 Sixth and seventh letters of surname are overwritten rendinging them impossible
to decipher with certainty, but the overwritten letters are possibly "ov", "av"
"ow" or "aw" resulting in possible surname "Kavalovski", "Kavalowski",
"Kavalavski", "Kavalawski" or something similar.
71 Surname is either "Halzer" or "Holzer".
72 Surname is either "Halfinger" or "Holfinger".
73 Surname appears to be either "Geyer" or "Geiger".
78 The country of which this passenger intends to become an inhabitant is
recorded as "Canada".
90 Last four or five letters of surname are poorly formed and difficult to decipher
with certainty, but name is possibly "Enguier". "Engeuer", "Engwer", "Enzeuer" or
"Enzwer".
104 Surname is either "Brand" or "Braud".
105-106 Surname appears to be "Kublieler" or "Kubbeler".
109 Surname is either "Nutzenberger" or "Nutgenberger".
115 Surname is either "Capelle" or "Capello".
