Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something that the reader should note.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
The sex of passengers was recorded as "male" or "female" on the manifest but has been
shortened in this transcription to "M" or "F" for formatting reasons.
In the column heading "The country of which they are citizens", the word "citizens"
has had a line drawn through it, and above it hand written the word "natives". This
was repeated on each page of the manifest.
In the columns headed "The country of which they are citizens" and "Intended destination
or location", the actual recorded entry of "U.S. America" was replaced by "U.S.A." for
formatting reasons.
The number of pieces of each passenger's baggage was recorded as "one", "two",
"three", etc. on the manifest but has been replaced in this transcription by "1", "2",
"3", etc. for formatting reasons.
The recorder of the manifest placed braces next to those passengers traveling together
indicating the group's total number of pieces of baggage. The transcriber has listed the
total pieces of baggage in the row of the first passenger of the group, and a "-" in the
rows of the rest of the group.
