DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, A. Roussan, Master of the Steamship "Europe", do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Steamship at Havre and Brest, from which Ports the said Steamship has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, the country of which they intend to become inhabitants, and part of the vessel occupied during the voyage. Since no one died during the voyage, this column is omitted in this transcription.

 A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed 
 definitely.

 An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the 
 manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.

 A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.

  6  First letter of surname cannot be deciphered with certainty, but surname
     is possibly "Tilden".
  7  Surname is possibly "Colquilt", "Colquitt", "Colguilt" or "Colguitt".
 14-15  There is an acute accent mark above the first and second "e" in 
        surname "Béné".
 16  First few letters of surname are obscurred by an ink blot and the last four
     letters are clearly "tson".  Surname is possibly "Matson" or "Watson". 
 19  Surname appears to be "Warchel", "Warchul", "Warschul" or "Waschel".
 20  First letter of surname cannot be deciphered with certainty, but surname
     is possibly "Guetil" or "Quitel".  There is an acute accent mark above the 
     "e" in surname "?uétil".      
 23  A drop of water appears to have smeared the ink rendering the Age unreadable.
 25  Surname is either "Schwab" or "Schwob".
 26-29  First letter of surname cannot be deciphered with certainty, but surname
     is possibly "Nicoterd", "Nicotera", "Hicotera" or "Hicoterd".
 29  Infant passenger's full Age is recorded as "1 yr + 8 mo".
 30  Passenger's full Occupation is recorded as "C^al Traveller".
 31  Given name appears to be written as "Oldele", but might possibly be "Adele".
 38  Surname is possibly "Neveux" or "Heveux".
 40  Given name is possibly "Neveux" or "Heveux".
 40-41  Surname is possibly "Noiret" or "Hoiret".
 42  There is an acute accent mark above the "e" in given name "Léopold".
 45  There is an acute accent mark above the first "e" in given name "Amélie".
 49  There is an acute accent mark above the first "e" in given name "Léontine".
 62-63  Surname is either "de Lantand" or "de Lantana".
 63  Passenger's full name is recorded as "Lucie Gaulesque de Lantand".
 67  There is an acute accent mark above the "e" in given name "José"
 67-68  Surname appears to be either "Arques" or "Argues".
