3 February 1868

DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, James Forbes, Master of the Steam Ship "Erin", do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said SS "Erin" at Liverpool from which Port the said SS Erin has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God. (signed) James Forbes. Sworn to this Feb. 3, 1868, before me. (signed) ?????????.
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Steam Ship "Erin" whereof James Forbes is Master, from Liverpool, burthen 2784 tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, country to which they severally belong and part of the vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage. Since all the passengers intended to become inhabitants of the "United States" and no one died during the voyage, those two columns were omitted in this transcription.

Transcriber's Notes:

An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.

A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
  definitely.

5 First digit of Age is too faint to read.
17-18 Surname appears to be either "Coppenston", "Coppenstone" or "Coppenstond".
20-21 Surname is either "Affman" or "Offman".
23 Surname is possibly "Wissf", "Wifsf", "Wifof" or "Wifss".
24 Surname is possibly "Frietang", "Frutang", "Friebang" or "Frubang".
26 Surname is either "Waldon" or "Walden".

30 Surname is possibly "Gaswill", "Caswill", "Gasmill" or "Casmill".
33-34 Surname is either "Lawlor" or "Lawler".
42 Large X's are visible in the sex and calling columns. These may have been made by the
recorder for some reason unknown to the transcribers, but are more likely to be artifacts
of the manifest copying or printing and consequently of no significance to the reader.
46-47 Surname is either "Scanibrick" or "Scambrick'. Large X's are visible in the sex and
calling columns. These may have been made by the recorder for some reason unknown to
the transcribers, but are more likely to be artifacts of the manifest copying or printing
and consequently of no significance to the reader.
