SS Egyptian Monarch
I, Walter S. Morgan, Master of the S.S. Egyptian Monarch do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of the City of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at London from which Port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the calling of each of said passengers, the location of the compartment or space occupied by each during the passage, the country of citizenship of each, and also the destination or location intended by each; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also of the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a projected sojourn in this country. So help me God. (signed) W.S. Morgan.

Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting
of the manifest or something that the reader should note.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be
transcribed definitely.
22 First letter of surname could be "N" or "W" resulting in "Nillmore" or "Willmore".
24-26 A bracket was placed in front of these three entries probably indicating
a family traveling together. Surname could be "Bellinger" or "Billinger".
35 Entry in Occupation or Calling column is "Ship's Refrigeration". There is no
entry for his number of pieces of baggage and no entry in the column indicating
whether he was a transient or intended an extended sojourn in the U.S.A.
These deletions and his calling lead one to believe that he was likely employed
as part of the ship's company and not a paying passenger.
36-50 These passengers were listed on a separate page of the manifest following the
Captains signature. There were no entries for their number of pieces of baggage.
In the last column, written down the length of the page beside the names, was the
statement "Cattle men that go with the ship".
37 Surname could be "Connell" or "O'Connell".
47 Surname could be "Fidrspatrick" or "Fitzpatrick".
48 Last letter of given name is an elevated "L" indicating the commonly used
abbreviation for "Samuel".
49 Given name "Jno" is a commonly used abbreviated form of "John".
