I, P H Haack, Master of the Str Cimbria, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said (blank) at (blank), from which Port the said (blank) has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers all the passengers consecutively 1 through 665, but the
recorder of the original manifest numbered the 1st Cabin passengers 1 through 68,
and the Steerage passengers 1 through 597.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate that
the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Tho^s for Thomas, Cath^a for Catherina,
W^m for Wilhelm or William, etc. Othertimes, the recorder abbreviates names by
writing the first few letters, skipping letters and then adding the final letter of
the name, i.e., Mgthe for Margarethe, Nicls for Nicolaus, etc..
The entry "United States" in the country of citizenship and destination columns is
shortened to "U. States" for formatting reasons. "Male" and "Female" in the Sex
column is shortened to "M" and "F" for the same reason.
