Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
  or calls attention to additional information in the transcriber notes.

The pages on this film are not numbered so finding a particular ship can be difficult.
 However, there appears to be a system of numbering the manifests. In this portion of
 the film the numbers are not in exact order. This manifest has no number, but is on the
 same page as 9441-2.

The first two paragraphs above are printed as part of the form for this list. The next
 paragraph is a stamp placed on the body of the page and then completed. Most ships from
 Port Townsend have a stamp or note from the Deputy Collector at Port Townsend listing or
 numbering the number of Chinese passengers. It is missing here.

The cover sheet for this list has a stamp and a hand written note.
 Surveyor: Land the within named Chinese person on identification
  (signature) JJ Tobin, Deputy Collector
 I certify that I have this 24th day of September, 1894 landed the within named Chinese passengers.
  (signature) WW Presbury, Chinese Inspector

The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not included in
the table:
 Complexion=Dk
 Color of Eyes=Brown
 If accredited officers of Chinese Government, state facts=no entries

1-4 The Certificate numbers are on the edge of the page and may be missing initial numbers;
     most certificate numbers seem to be 5 or 6 digits long.
