Transcriber's Notes:
The original writing on this manifest is very faded. In several areas, the
recorded names, ages, sex, etc. of the passengers are so faint that the information
is not visible, and where visible, is difficult to decipher. Though the
transcription was done with care, the result is subject to errors and should be
viewed with some skepticism.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are
not numbered in the original manifest.
Occupations are only given in the transcription if the recorder entered them. Since
it was common for recorders not to make an entry in the occupation column for female
passengers or for children, a possible though not a certain interpretation of the
intended occupation where left blank is that of the occupation of the last adult male
entered above.
The recorder routinely substitutes "Mc" for "Mac" in the surnames of the Irish
