Steamship Britannia
I, James Land, Master of the Steamship Britannia, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Steamer Britannia at Glasgow, from which Port the said Steamer has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died. List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Steamship Britannia whereof (blank) is Master, from Glasgow, burthen 1318 tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, and part of the ship occupied during the voyage. Since all the passengers intend to become inhabitants of the "United States", and no one died during the voyage, these two columns are omitted in this transcription.

manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
12 Damage to the manifest in the area of passenger's occupation makes deciphering
difficult and uncertain, but occupation appears to be "Farmer".
34 Although this passenger's Sex is clearly listed as "M", this is likely a recording
error since both feminine given name and lack of an occupation indicate a female.
45 Surname clearly begins with "D" and ends "Heus", but the letters in between are
not clearly formed, but might be "agen", "yen", "afen" or something similar.
Surname is possibly "Dagenheus", "Dyenheus", "Dafenheus" amongst others.
47 Surname appears to be written as "Faley", but might actually be "Foley".
53-58 Surname is possibly "Norman" or "Noman".
62-65 Although written as "Faley", surname is likely "Foley".
66 Surname is either "Daran" or "Doran".
70-71 Although recorded as "Mcguire", surname is likely "Maguire" or "MacGuire".
74 Surname clearly begins with "R" and ends "ly" but the two or three letters in between
are not clearly written and difficult to decipher with certainty, but the letters
possibly are "rue", "um" or other combination of letters neither extending above or
below the line. Surname is possibly "Bruely" or "Bumly" amongst others.
77-78 Surname appears to be either "Mullwany" or "Mullevany".
78 Passenger's occupation is clearly listed as "Farmer", perhaps a recording error
since a woman's occupation of "Farmer", although not unprecedented, is very rare.
80 Surname is either "Corey" or "Casey".
83 Although passenger's given name is masculine and his occupation is listed as "Farmer",
his Sex is clearly listed as "F", likely a recording error.
93 Surname is clearly written as "McCauley", but might actually be "MacCauley" or
even "MacAuley".
100 Although written as "Michel", given name might actually be "Michael".
101 Although clearly recorded as "McGill", surname might actually be "Magill" or "MacGill".
102 Surname is either "Corry" or "Carry".
103 Although written as "Michel", given name might actually be "Michael".
107-115 The Sex of passengers berthed in Cabins is not recorded in the manifest, but is
readily apparent from the passengers' titles, given names and occupations.
112 Surname is written as "Bayles", but might be "Bayless", "Boyle" or "Boyles".
113 Surname begins with "Y" and ends "le" and in between are two or three letters which
are not clearly written, but might be "ue", "eu", or something similar. Surname is
possibly "Yuele", "Yeule", "Yude" amongst other possibilities.
114 Surname appears to be either "Knaff" or "Knapf".
