DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, William C. Statesburg do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Custom for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Barque Bachus whereof I am Master, from Hamburg. So help me God.

List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the Barque Bachus whereof William C. Statesburg is Master, from Hamburg burthen 200 22/95 tons.
Columns represent: Passenger names, age, sex, occupation. The country to which they severally belong is Prussia and the country in which they intend to become inhabitants is Milwaukie for all passengers so these columns were eliminated.

* An asterisk indicate additional information in the Transcriber's 
  Notes.

* Most of the passengers went to Wisconsin but some settled in 
  Niagara County, New York.

* The passengers were numbered by the transcriber.

* Names were transcribed as written without regard to spelling.

* No births or deaths were recorded during this voyage.

18     Given name was recorded as Christine and sex as female but should be 
       Christian and sex as male.
35-39  Surname may be Wendt.

The Fred Melcher family settled in Up-State New York (Randolph) and 
stayed for 12 Years before  moving to Watertown, Wisconsin - Jefferson 
County.

Augusta Melcher married Julius Knispel - also from the Watertown area 
and a German Immigrant - My wife would be the Great/Great Grandaughter
