Correspondence added 1-23-2006 regarding the Captain of this ship
Captain Mark Patten McElhinney is my great great uncle.
My great grandfather Captain Olonzo David McElhinney was
Captain of the Alhambra as well.
They sailed out of Levis, Quebec. Olonzo taught navigation in
Glasgow Scotland. He drowned in the Fraser River at
Steveston, BC when caught in a storm in a one man sloop.
Mark Patten was a marine architect for the Canadian Government
and designed ships for laying cable. My cousins and I have
photos of Mark Patten and a couple of the ships he helped design.
