SS Vaderland
Report or Manifest of all the passengers taken on board the SS Vaderland whereof H E Nichels is Master, from Antwerp burthen two thousand tons and owned by International Navigation Co of Antwerp, Belgium and bound to New York.
Columns represent: passengers' name, age, sex, occupation, to what country they belong, country of destination, those who died, accomodations. All were going to the United States and none died so those columns were eliminated.

Nickels February 1878 I, H.E.Nickels, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear, that the Report or Manifest, subscribed by my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of New York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief a full and true account of all the passengers which were on board the SS Vaderland at the time of her sailing from the port of Antwerp, or which have been taken on board at any time since that I am at present and have been during the voyage, master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the Report or Manifest are to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true Sworn this 14 day of July 1878 ss H.E.Nickels Sworn to this April 14 1878 So Help me God. Transcriber's Notes: ? Question marks indicate letters impossible to read with certainty. * An asterisk indicates additional information is in a footnote. * Ditto marks were used on the manifest. Under Occupations, they were often unclear. * The sworn statement which usually appears first was located as shown above. 5&6 First letter looks like "L" for Lheureux. 7&8 Surname could be Thagi, Flagi or Flage. 16 Surname faint, could be Schils, Schler or Tihler. 24 Middle name probably Hunn but Huhn, Heinn are possible. Umlaut over u in Muller. 26 Surname could be Dreisch or Dreisel. 32 Surname may be Schrammer because of questionable dittos. 52 Surname looks like # 5 & 6, i.e. Lheureux. 56 Initial S or J. Occupation may be miner. 57 Umlaut over u in Muller.
