Ship Tartan


Hamburg, Germany to Boston, Massachusetts
16 September 1826

DISTRICT OF BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN - PORT OF BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN
I, Thomas R. Girry, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear, that the within REPORT and LIST, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the district of BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the names, age, sex and occupation of all the passengers, together with the name of the country to which they severally belong, and that of which they intend to become inhabitants, which were on board the Ship Tartan whereof I am at present master, at the time of her sailing from the port of Hamburg, Germany or which have at any time since been taken on board the said vessel. And I do likewise swear, that all matters whatsoever in said report and list expressed, are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. SO HELP ME GOD.

REPORT AND LIST of the passengers taken on board the Ship Tartan of Boston whereof Girry is master, burthen 601 tons and (not filled in)/95ths of a ton, bound from the port of Hamburg for Boston.
Columns represent: name, age, sex, occupation, country to which they belong, country to which they intend to become inhabitants.

Transcriber's Notes: 

The country which they intended to inhabit was recorded as Germany, 
but could have been written incorrectly.   

Passenger Notes: 
#1 surname could be Mutter or Multer or Muller.
#2 surname could be Wasmas or Wasmar or Wasmus.
