PS Scythia*
I, W H C Harris, Master of the PS Scythia*do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board of the said PS at Lpool from which Port said PS has now arrived; and on the said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of the said Passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who have died.

The use of an asterisk indicates an omission or error made by the original
recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letter that could not be read due to the
quality of the original document.
* The prefix PS indicates that this ship is a Paddle Steamer.
* The last two digits of the year were not filled in. There is nothing else
on the pages that would give us a clue as to what year it came in. However,
the manifest has been copied by NARA in a group of ships that arrived in
1878, so it would be assumed this ship arrived in that year.
9 - Quebec is written after Canada apparently to narrow down where this
passenger was from.
11 - Prussia written after Germany for country of origin.
12 - Alfred abreviation
24 - Prussia listed after Germany
26 - One or two letters indistinct Could be W or ICE or UR
37-8 - Very faint part of document. Might be Bergman No age for her
39-46 - The MacLeods are going to the Province of Quebec
49-50 - From Quebec and going back to Quebec Province
61 - These two letters seem the same Might be RR VV NN
90 - Occupation? First four letters look like LAND LANDSCAPER LAWYER
91 - Cannot even see items-Very very faint
