SS Schiedam
I, Chevalier, Master of the Steamship Schiedam do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscibed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Steamship Schiedam at Rotterdam from which said Steamship Schiedam has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. Original recorder wrote capital letters with great flourishes and in some
cases used similar strokes for different letters making it difficult or nearly
impossible to interpret.
5 - Last digit of age blotted out.
6 - First initial of last name K N H ?????. Last three letters may be ELN or
DN Maybe the name was Kageln
10-11 - Big blot on document covers the ages of these two passengers
11 - Initial of first name is a mystery Could be M N H
12 - First letter of last name could be M-N or H
17 - A line drawn through this name for some reason and no age given.
18 - 4th letter could be either M OR W
27 - Last Name indecipherable-No Occupation-Line drawn through name. First
three letters look like KRZ
28-29-30-31-32-33-34 - All of these have a line drawn through the names. The
reason is a mystery. There is a notation at #27 that says "is on board"
34 - Last name Wals???
40 - Lapp or Sapp
51 - Missing letter might be T but looks like a F
59 to 65 - Crease on original document-Last name Wascher-Walther????
68 - Cannot clearly read last name. Deciphered as shown.
69-70-71 - The Goofs family or are they JOOFS?
86 - First name seems strange-perhaps Cecilie misspelled
92-93 - Occupation reads BOOTCLOSER ???
99 - Cannot Read First Name
100 - First letter of last name could be anything-L-H-G
130 - Last name-Vetrer-Vetter-????
131 - Last name-Landsberg????
132 - First initial of last name is either W or V

Jacob Washer, is related to Maria Sophia Washer who was born 10/8/1807.
She married my ggg grand father on my fathers side of the family.
Maria was in sports such as squash. If you are researching family,
