DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Vincent Tilyou do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Barque Reform whereof I am Master, from Hamburgh. So help me God (signed) V. Tilyou
Sworn to this 4th September 1843 before me J.A. ???nau D.C.
List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the Bark Reform whereof Vincent Tilyou is Master, from Hamburgh burthen (blank).
Columns represent: Name, Age, Occupation, Sex. The country to which they severally belong is Prussia for all the Passengers so that column was eliminated. The country in which they intend to become inhabitants was also listed as Prussia, which is an error, and should have been United States for all passengers so that column was eliminated.

Most of these passengers made their way by barge up the Hudson River and on
the Erie Canal to Niagara County, New York State. They settled on farms in
the vicinity of Bergholz, New York.

Correspondence 4/9/02 passengers #41-48 Ottorl (Urtel), #61-67 Strasburg
This Prussian Lutheran family, the Urtels, settled in Wheatfield
NY-Niagara County. They first went to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church
in Bergholtz, NY-Niagara County. Some of the family went on to
Lutheran Churches in Wolcottsville, NY-Niagara County. One son went
to Minnesota in 1860's while the rest of the children of John and
Christine staying in NY.
Gottfried and Christine Strassburg, passengers #61-67 also settled
in town of Wheatfield-Niagara County-NY with their family. I have a
little information about them and their son August who married a Hasenbank.
Also were members of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholtz-Niagara
County-NY. Viv

Correspondence February 21, 2008 passengers #107-113 Miller (Mueller)

Frederica Mueller (Miller), based on all the info I have been able to gather to date, married James Wilson, b. Ireland in NYC about 1851 or 1852. She appears in Hoboken in the 1880 census which shows her place of birth as NY and her parents as being born in France. Her son Edward was 17 and William (my grandfather) was 15, a daughter Ellen was 12 and a daughter Mary was 10. The four children were born when James and Frederica (Frances) lived in NYC. The four children were baptized in St.Peters on Barclay St or Place in Manhattan. The family moved around 1870 to Hoboken.
She died in November 1907 in Hoboken, NJ. Her year of birth varies according to the censuses. Her death cert states she was born in Mar 1846. I hope to be able to find out where her father Denis and mother Frederica and she and her brother Denis were born. The confusing listings of France and Germany may have been attributed to a Swiss or Alsace address. I would be happy to share all the info I have on my genealogy search of the Wilsons and relatives up to today. Edward S. Murphy Col. USMC Ret.
