Correspondence 03/28/2004 Capt. Dorritie
Capt. Robert Dorritie is the earliest known ancestor of the only known
family of Dorrities in the United States. I know of none of his siblings,
nor of any of his children other than Edwin Augustus Dorritie born in
1848, who married Mary Ellen Fant in New York City in 1870 and had
eleven children. Capt. Dorritie married Emeline Smith, formerly of
Nassau, Bahamas, who was related to Dickinson of Bermuda. He is said
to have drowned off Antigua (I have no date or ship information).
Would love any more information on Capt. Dorritie if anyone is researching.
