Brig Mersey
I, R. D. Phillips Master of the Brig Mersey, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Brig at Penarubuea from which port said Brig has how arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

Transciber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to the
quality of the original document.
There were no deaths on board so that column was eliminated.
Passenger Notes:
1 Theo is the abbreviation for Theodore. Possibilities for the last name
include Br?ott,although the name actually looks like Bmott or Bwott. The
letter or letters in question do not extend above or below the line, no
dots as an i would have.
2 The last name could be Meldler or Nieldler.
3 The quality of the copy is poor and the first name cannot be read. There
may be 4 or 5 letters in the first name.The last two letters extend below
the line. Possibilities are gy and py.
