Transcriber's Notes:
? A question mark (?) indicates indecipherable material.
* An asterisk (*) indicates further information in these footnotes.
^ A caret (^) indicates letters left out of an abbreviated name and the
letters following it appear in superscript.
* The sworn statement for this manifest is handwritten and difficult to read,
but I have entered what I can decipher.
* The writer of this list uses ditto marks, especially in the occupation
column, thus indicating occupations for infants, etc. This does help
establish a family group travelling together. Also, he uses brackets for
groups to indicate the baggage with them. I have listed the baggage entry
with the first entry of a group.
* As can be seen by all the blanks and question marks, this list is very
unclear and badly damaged.
Passenger Notes:
# 1 - Surname definitly begins with a W but the rest is unclear. It looks like
three to five more letters, possibly Wass, Wiss, Wifs or Wise.
# 6 - Last dwelling place (column 2) is unclear; may be Mitte? or Mille?
# 8 - Difficult to determine. Surname may be Guchbaum. Middle name may be
Aljet or the entry may read: Joh v. Aljet or Altsch Guchbaum.
#13 - Age of the son is one digit, may be 9.
#15 - Surname may begin with an "S."
#16-#18 - Ages are blurred but they look like single digits. #17, Agnes, may
be 5 and # 18, Franz, may be 2 or 3.
#20 - Final letters of surname are unclear. The name may be Tepte, Teph or
Tesste.
#22 - Age may be 56.
#29 - Surname looks like it may be Enneking or Erneking.
#30 - Given name may begin with and "H" and seems to end with a "y" thus may be
Hennry.
#30-#33 - Passengers bracketed together for baggage indicating one box for all
four.
#31 - Given name may be Richard or Bernhard.
#34 - Given name may be Adolph. Surname looks like Rolfsen.
#35 - Surname may begin with a "U" Is the name Ulferts? I believe the last
dwelling place is Osnabruck.
#37 - Name looks like it may be Math. Angner or Augner.
#38 - Given name seems to be And. (abbreviation for Andreas?)
#40 - Surname may be Leitte.
#41 - Looks like there may be an umlaut over the "u" in the surname, so name
could be Müller (or Mueller).
#41-#49 - Bracket in baggage column indicates two boxes for all these
passengers.
#48 - Surname has an umlaut over the "u" so it is Müller (Mueller).
#50 - Given name looks like it may be Herm. (abbrev. for Hermann?)or Harm.
#51-#51 - Bracket in baggage column indicates one box for these two passengers.
#54 - Given name may be Christe.
#56 - Occupation may be Servant.
#57 - Given name may be Jacob. Surname may be Horst.
#58 - Looks like there may be an umlaut over the "u" in the surname, so name
could be Müller (or Mueller).
#60-#61 - Bracket in baggage column indicates the baggage was for both
passengers.
#63 - I believe the surname name to be Runsinger, but not certain.
