Transcriber's Notes:

The Captain's name on the first line of his sworn statement has no initial. Last name appears
to be Ahrens. The next signature has an initial, which may be an E. The final signature
has an initial but it is unclear and the last name clearly appears to be Ahreens. The name
of the individual attesting to the Captain's signature is unclear. The letters all run
together.
National Archives and Records Administration, Film M237, Reel 411, List 106.
