In the male/female column, based on the names, it appears that some are
recorded wrong. I have transcribed them as they appear on the list.
Capital P, F, and T look exactly alike in many cases. When I could tell
by the rest of the name what the first letter was, I used it. Otherwise,
I have a transcriber's note, listing the possibilities.
30. This looks like a 3 letter word, with the first letter either a T,
F or P. 2nd letter could be a d. 3rd letter is unclear. This could
be Fdr, for Frederick.
57 & 61. This first name is 2 letters, the first could be an F, T, or P.
The second could be an h or an n.
65. The first letter appears to be an F or T, the second could be an n
or a w.
66. The second initial could be an F or T.
83. First initial could be an I, J, or O.
92 & 93. Madans or Madaus.
116. First initial could be an I, J, or L, or O.
140. First name could be Herin or Herm.

above her is from Austria and the person below her is from Germany.
203. This could be Herm or Hein.
203 & 204. Last name could be Todt, Podt, Fodt, Toelt, Peolt, Foelt. I
think Todt is most likely, since I have found that as a surname in
other ships from Germany.
211. Last name looks like Limmerman, but there is a line across the L,
which makes me think it could possibly be Timmerman.
213. 3rd letter is u or n. 4th letter is a superscript, the same as names
#350 & 352.
238-240. The last 2 letters of this name could be ra, na, possible ner.
241-242. Felandt, Telandt, or Pelandt.
254. Fulter or Futter
256. Kaulrowitz, Kanlrowitz, Kaulvowitz or Kaulrowitz.
257. Haupse or Hanspe.
258. Taube seems the most likely surname. This could also be Faube,
Tanbe, Fanbe.

The surname should be Engelbrecht (l and e switched).
passenger #313 on the SS Holsatia is John Engelbrecht born 7 Feb 1856
in Germany, died 19 Dec 1923. He married Nannie born 17 Apr 1860, and
died 6 Dec 1930. Both are buried at Immanuel Lutheran Church,
Honey Creek, Cole County, MO. John's brother Heinrich Michael Engelbrecht
came over on a ship from Germany in 1871. I have yet to find him.
He was born 18 Feb 1851 and died 25 Mar 1932. He married Therasa Frisch
born 19 Dec 1860 died 25 May 1938. They are also buried at Immanuel
