DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF BOSTON - PORT OF BOSTON
I, Charles Smith Master of the Ethelred do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all of the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Port Antonio from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the Passenger Act of 1882; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So Help me God.

List or Manifest of all the passengers taken on board the Ethelred whereof Ch Smith is Master, from Port Antonio burthen 531 tons.
Columns represent: Number, First Name, Last Name, Age (Yrs.), Sex, Calling, Country of which they are citizens, Native Country, Intended Destination or Location, Number of Pieces of Baggage, and Location of Compartment or Space Occupied. There were additional columns on the manifest for Age (months), Date and Cause of Death, and Whether Visitors Only or Intending to be permanent settlers, but since these columns were not used, they have been omitted.

*  Let me just say that whoever took down this list believed in saving money on
   ink, as he doesn't seem to dip his pen very often.
