SS Dania
I, H. Barends, Master of the S.S. Dania do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the Passengers taken on board of the said S.S. Dania at Hamburg and Havre from which port said Dania has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the location of the compartment or space of the said vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country of citizenship of each, and also the destination or location intended by each, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the dates, and the names and ages of those who died; also of the pieces of baggage of each, also a true statement so far as can be ascertained with reference to the intention of each alien passenger, as to a protracted sojourn in this country. The senior Wilhelm Koller is my great-grandfather and the junior Wilhelm Koller is my grandfather. They continued their journey from New York City to the Town of Porter in Niagara County, New York where they operated a farm and raised ten children. Passenger #1096, Otto E. Koller, was born on the S. S. Dania on 24 March 1890 during the passage. KOLLER Picture My grandparents, William F. Koller, Jr. and Alice Hillman Koller, were both born in Brandenburg, Germany. Correspondence 05/24/02 passengers #33-37 and 58-60 Elsner & Buddig I just wanted to let you know that I had ancestors on this ship. Great grandfather (#33) Jacob Elsner Great grand mother (#34) Magdalena Elsner (maiden name Greve) Their children (#35 & 36) Willi and Martha Elsner Magdalena's sister (#59) Christine Budding (should be Buddig, it's misspelled on the list) Christine's husband, (#58)Henry Budding (see above) Their daughter (#60) Margaret Budding (same) born in Chicago, Illinois between 1885 and 1887. Hans Buddig (#37) is assumed to be related as well, somehow. The Elsner family and the Buddig family lived in Chicago, Illinois until 1900. They then the Elsners moved to Gilmer County, Georgia where they resided for 5 years. In 1905 the Elsner family and the Buddig family both moved to Austell, Cobb County, Georgia. The Elsners had a total of 12 children. Jacob and Magdalena lived in Cobb County until they died. I'm still searching for the Buddigs.
