Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.
? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
No passenger was listed as having died during the voyage and so that column
was omitted in this transcription.
In the case of the first few passengers, entries in the columns "country to which
they belong" and "country in which they intend to become inhabitants" was
"United States" followed by ditto marks. After the first few passengers the ditto
marks were not entered. However, on the second page of the manifest, "United States"
was entered at the top of the page in both columns. The transcriber's interpretation
is that all the passengers were returning United States residents.
1 ???g - First letter might possibly be a "P" or a "T". Second and third letters
are either "in" or "ui". Surname possibly "Ping", "Puig", "Ting" or "Tuig.
12 Stevenson - Manifest is smudged so second initial is undecipherable.
20 Junfen - Surname might possibly be "Janfen".
22 and 23 Hallway - Manifest is smudged after double "l" and before "w" possibly
conceiling a letter. Surname might possibly be "Hallaway".
22 Hallway - It was the habit of the recorder to leave the "occupation" of female
passengers blank, however female passenger #22 has ditto marks in the "occupation"
column implying "Miner". The transcriber's interpretation is that the recorder
likely entered the ditto marks for this passenger by mistake.
23 Hallway - Given name possibly "Jno" signifying "John".
24 Easley - Second initial possibly "J" or "P".
32 Scholter - Surname might possibly be "Schalter".
33 Gugdon - Surname might possibly be "Gugden".
35 McCrevy - It was the habit of the recorder to leave the "occupation" of female
passengers blank, however female passenger #35 has ditto marks in the "occupation"
column implying "Miner". The transcriber's interpretation is that the recorder
likely entered the ditto marks for this passenger by mistake.
41 Clarke - First initial possibly "L" or "S".
48 Forre - Last letter "e" of surname has an accent mark.
53 Brondell - Second initial possibly "L" or "S".
54 Daus - Surname might possibly be "Dans".
