* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.
? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.
All passengers on pages 1 and 2 are Steerage passengers, all Cabin passengers are
on this page.
The passengers on this list were not numbered, this was done by the transcriber for
ease of reading.
Lab or Labr probably stands for labourer, Ch for child, Spin for spinster,
Ift or Inft for Infant, Mcht for Merchant, Gent for Gentleman.
530: the last 2 letters of the Occupation could be ht.
531: 3 - 0 is written behind the age.
534: 6 is written before the age, 6 - 6 is behind the age.
535: The first letter of the last name is not very clear, it could be Jouet.
539: ? - 0 and 3 is written behind the age.
540: 28 - 12 and 4 is written behind the age.
548: Since Wilhelm is a male name, this could be Wilhelmine, which is a female name.
553: 1 - 1 is written in the Country coloumn.
563: Magt is probably an abreviation of Margaret.
565: Mats is probably an abreviation of Mathias (Matthew), 2 - 4 and 8 is written in the last coloumns.
568: 7 is written in front of the age, 2 - ? behind the age.
578: The age is written as 3 1/4.
580: 3 is written in front of the age, 3 - 0 behind the age.
581: 4 - 1 and 5 - 1 is written in the last coloumn.
586: The age of this child is not written clearly at all, on long stroke with the pen diagonally from
the bottom left to the top right of the coloumn, then something looking like a 1 underneath
this line to the right of it.
588: It is not clear if there is a "s" at the end of this name or if it is just a fancy end of the k,
the name therefore could possibly be Meks.
589: 11 - 7 is written behind US.
590: 7 - 10 is written behind England.
603: The first name might be Adolph, the h is definitely missing in that case.
605: Since the captain writes W and N very similar, the last name could possibly be Nitch.
610: 2 is written in the last coloumn, 2 - 0 is written at the end of the line.
613: 3 - 0 is written behind the age.
633: 11 - 3 is written behind the country, 14 in the last coloumn.
640: 8 is written in front of the age, 12 - 7 behind the age, 19 at the end of the line.
641: 6 is written in front of the age, 6 - 0 & 5 - 7 behind the age, 12 at the end of the line.
649: 2 - 2 is written in the country coloumn, 4 at the end of the line.
651: 2 is written in front of the age, 1 - 1 behind the age.
656: 4 - 6 is written behind the country, 10 at the end of the line.
