A caret (^) indicates superscript, small letters written to round out an abbreviation.

1 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Luerssen.
3-4 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Mueller.
22 First letter of surname and age are blurred by damaged original--looks
like the name may be Finke, Zinke, or Tinke.
23 First letter of surname is blurred by damaged original--looks like the
name may be Finke, Zinke, or Tinke because the writer simply uses the
ditto mark to indicate that it is the same as the previous entry, and
the baggage number indicates that it is for both passengers because the
         list brackets them for it.
25-30 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Mueller.
33-34 Baggage brackets indicate the one piece of baggage was for both entries--
probably the two were travelling together.
35 Surname has an umlauted "o" so may be Doenges.
