Correspondence 12/20/02 passengers #24-27 Repp
My great great grandfather, Johannes Repp (Vol. 5, S.S. Astronom, #24-27),
arrived in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Elisabeth, and his daughter,
Marie (born May 1864). His brother, Heinrich, also came with him.
Johannes was born, on 13 January 1830, in Ulrichstein, Germany. After
arriving in Baltimore he worked as a scour and dyer in the clothing business.
He and Elisabeth had at least five more children:
Katherine Marie :08 September 1866 (my Great grandmother)
Henry: abt 1866
Elizabeth: abt 1872
George: abt 1874
Annie: abt 1877
Johannes died around 1895. His exact date is not known. But it is believed
that he was living in southeast Baltimore, somewhere on the westside of
Patterson Park, at the time of his death.
He also had another brother, who arrived in Baltimore abroad the
SS Ferdinard on 22 September 1860. He and Heinrich both worked as
"bakers" and eventually had their own business. alinreno2
