Transcriber's Notes:
The blank spaces in columns are places where there was no entry made by the
recorder.
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.
? The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to the
quality of the original document.
The following passenger numbers indicate groups of people that were
bracketed together on the original document: 7-13, 19-20, 39-41, 75-76,
79-85, 101-105, 110-112, 116-122, 123-133, 139-145, 146-149, 158-159.
Some children's ages were expressed as fractions. These were converted to
years and months, ie: 3/4 converted to 9m.
3 - Henry William Kinemann- place name in this column cannot be read becuase
the manifest is smeared.
5 - Carl Wient?ge- looks like a "t" with another letter written over or under
it, making it too confusing to discern.
27 - Elisabeth Unverzage- occupation column contains a single letter that
looks like a cursive "o".
31 - August Ar?t?- the first ? looks like a "z", the second ? is a single
small upstroke at the end maybe "i" or "e"
35 - Louis Gro??- the first ? looks like an old style letter used in "ss"
combination (like a "f" with the lower stroke backwards), the second ? is
a single "/"
67 - August Ho?n- looks like an old style letter as described above. Not sure
if it's meant to be an "s" or "f" or something else.
109 - Louise Kremp- there is a scratch or stray mark of some sort over the
number, from what shows, it looks like an 8 or 9
134 - Theresia Kuc?en- thise is either "h" or "k"
142 - Ce?ilia- this is a small letter, it could be "c" or "s"
182 - And? Bredenschmidt- this is a small letter, possibly "e" or "r"
187 - Ernst Wei?enin- looks like an old style letter as desrcibed in #35, not
sure if meant to be "s" or "f"
188 - Christ Her?emeyer- as above (#187)
197 - Louvise Dohrmann- ? in place name is another old style "s" and then an
upstroke like an "l"
202 - Henry Kuck- ? in place name looks like "p" or "f"
