THIS SHEET IS FOR SECOND CABIN PASSENGERS

List or Manifest of Alien Passengers for the United States Immigration Officer at Port of Arrival.
Required by the regulations for the Secretary of Commerce and Labour of the United States, under Act of Congress approved March 3, 1903, to be delivered to the United States Immigration Officer by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
" S. S. Friesland " sailing from Liverpool, June 19th, 1907,
Arriving at Port of PHILADELPHIA, 30 JUN 1907, 190.
Columns represent:
 1) Number on list (starts with 1 and goes to 30, i.e. each page has 30
lines). But each page does not have all 30 lines filled in and in this
transcription the numbers will be given consecutively starting with 1 on
the first page and continuing consecutively onto the next page.
 2) Name in full, 2 sub columns headings- the left hand column says "Family
Name", the right hand column says "Given Name".
 3) Age, 2 sub columns, left one says "Yrs.", right one says "Mos.", in this
transcription I will only have one entry and it will be in years unless
     indicated otherwise.
 4) Sex.
 5) Married or Single.
6)* Calling or Occupation. The footnote reads: *Instead of showing occupation
of ? and aliens in transit, state in column 6 whether they are "tourists

"Write". I will use the phrase "can read and write can't read or write"
     rather than yes or no.
8)* Nationality (Country of which citizen or subject.)
9)* Race or People. Footnote is not legible on most of the pages. On one page
some of this line can be seen to read: "Race of people is to be determined
by the stock from which aliens sprang? and the language they speak. List
of races will be found on back of this sheet."
10) Last Permanent Residence. Broken into 2 sub headings. The left one reads
Country, the right one reads City or town,
11)  Final Destination (State, city or town if within the United States;
Country if outside the United States).
12) Whether having a ticket to such final destination.
13) By whom was Passage Paid
14) Whether in acquisition of $50, and if not, how much?
15) Whether ever before in the United States, and if so when and where. Three
sub columns: the left one says Yes or no. The right is divided into 2
more columns with the heading: If yes-, and under that two sub headings,
the left hand column headed "Years or part of years", and the right hand
     column headed "Where".
16) Whether going to join a relative or friend; and if so what relative or
friend, and his name and complete address.
17)* Ever in prison or almshouse or institutions for care and treatment of the
insane or supported by charity. If so, which?

Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
   in the transcriber's notes.

? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

* There is no sworn statement from the vessel's captain on any of the pages of
   the manifest that I've received.

* Entries for columns 17 through 22 were always the same-
the answers were: no, no, no, no, good, no. Therefore they where left out.

* Information recorded on the original manifest for U.S. Citizens was minimal.
This transcription contains all recorded information.

* Passengers were numbered consecutively by the transcriber for ease of referencing.

* Names were transcribed as seen.
