Transcriber's Notes:

The sworn statement at the beginning of the passenger list says that
".....whereof P.C. Petrie is Master from New York....." "New York" is most
likely a mistake and it should have been recorded as ".....whereof P.C. Petrie
is Master from Liverpool....."

A (?) mark indicates that the transcriber could not decipher certain letters
because of either unreadable handwriting of the list maker or poor condition
of the copy of the passenger list.

The person who recorded the passengers' names often abbreviated given names
and occupations by including the first few letters of the name followed by the
last letter superscripted. A superscripted letter is indicated in this
transcription by the symbol (^) before the letter which was superscripted.
Examples in the list include:

    Alf^d = Alfred Ant^y = Anthony Barth^w = Bartholomew
    Cath^e = Catherine Cha^s = Charles Edw^d = Edward
    Eliz^h = Elizabeth Fra^s = Francis Fred^k = Frederick
    H^y = Hy = Henry Ja^s = Jas = James Jno = John
    Marg^t = Margaret Mich^l = Michael Nich^s = Nicholas
    Rich^d = Richard Tho^s = Thomas W^m = William

    Carp^r = Carpenter Coachmk^r = Coachmaker D^r = Dr = Doctor
    Eng^r = Engineer Gent = Gentleman Inf^t = Infant
    Rev^d = Reverend Shopk^r = Shopkeeper Mch^t = Mech^t = Merch^t = Merchant
