Transcriber's Notes: This list is unusual in that it is designed for each passenger to have a separate page. At the top of each page appear blanks labeled: Name: Date when booked: Agent's Name: Agent's place of business: Name of Steamer for which booked: Date of sailing from

Beneath this the information for the passenger is filled out in the columns described above. At the bottom of each page is an oath and a blank for the passenger's signature. The only blank at the top of the page that was completed is booking date: Sep 22 '94. There is no name of the ship on the page. The only indication is the "Oceanic Steamship Company" at the top of the page. There is very little indication of when or where this ship sailed from except the location of the page in the microfilm, the booking date and the Last Residence. The page has been filmed in the midst of pages of ships that arrived in San Francisco in September and October, 1894. In other instances on the film where this type of form was used there are usually several pages for the same ship's arrival. His last residence is Quebec, but it is not unusual for passengers to list a last residence that is not in the area from which the ship departed. The last residence for the passenger on the previous page is Honolulu, which raises questions about whether the page refer to the same arrival. There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest. Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?. 1 surname is Kowan or Vowan. The signature is "Wm ?owan."
