I, Thomas Roberts Master of the Scythia do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of Boston is a full and perfect List of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Liverpool and Queenstown from which port the said vessel has now arrived; and that on the said list are truly designated the age, sex, and calling of each of the said passengers, the location of the compartment or space occupied by each during the passage, the country of the citizenship of each, and also the destination or location intended by each; and that the said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of the said passengers who have died on the said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So help me God.

Passenger 195 - The name may be an abbreviation, for there is a
small dash immediately preceeding the name. The last letter
dips below the line, but does not look like a "y." It could
be a "g" "q" or "z."
Passenger 197 - The initial "A" is very unusual for the manifest.
Passenger 205 - The first letter may be an "L" or an "S." An
abrasion has partially obscured the letter.
Passenger 209 - This name seems most clear on the manifest, despite
the oddity of the name, so it is possibly a misspelling.
Passenger 213 - Could be Honore or Honora, but writer's "e's" are
generally more distinctive.
Passenger 218 - This name appears three times on the manifest. It
begins with a "D" and appears to end with a "t" or an "h"
and is marked as an abbreviation. Transcriber is unsure of
the name.
Passenger 229 - Last name illegible after initial "W."
Passenger 236 - First name illegible, very dark.
Passenger 241 - First letter could be "R", "N" or "D" Cannot make
out the rest.
Passenger 244 - Could be Raynis, Raysis.
Passenger 245 - Is listed as John with a line indicating this is
an abbreviation. The transcriber feels the name is probably
Johanna.
Passenger 247 - This name appears three times on the manifest. It
begins with a "D" and appears to end with a "t" or an "h"
and is marked as an abbreviation. Transcriber is unsure of
the name.
Passenger 250 - The last name appears to be "Coudou" or "Condou."
The writer's "n's" and "u's" occasionally look almost
identical at times. The transcriber feels the name is most
likely "Condou."
Passenger 275 - Name is John with a line beneath it. The
transcriber feels that, given the sex of the passenger,
this is an abbreviation for Johanna.
Passenger 311 - This name appears three times on the manifest.
It begins with a "D" and appears to end with a "t" or an "h"
and is marked as an abbreviation. Transcriber is unsure of
the name.
Passenger 315 - The first name begins with an obvious A, followed
by a tall letter (b or l?) and ending with a "d." It looks
almost like Alind. The last name has a curious mark over the
last letter, which appears to be an umlaut.
Passenger 319 - is abbreviated Robb: Could be Robert or Robby.
Passenger 320 - Could be Tornhuson, Tornhison, Tornhinson.
Passenger 323 - There is a small dark mark on the immediate left of
this name that appears to be an asterisk. There is remaining
script to tell what this asterisk refers to.
Passenger 332 - Could be Richard Healte? Healthe? Heathe?
Passenger 335 - The transcriber feels the obscured letter is a "K"
because of its height and the presence of a mark that looks
like the upper arm of a lowercase k.
Passenger 370 - This name is written very small between two lines,
and the fourth letter is hard to read. It dips below the
line in the manner of a lowercase f, g, j, or q.
Passenger 371 - The last name of this passenger is all level,
curving letters, most look like u's, n's and s's. Possibly
begins with an "S" and definitely ends with an "e."
Passenger 379-380 - The first letter could be T or L or S. Very
hard to read.
