LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. San Juan, sailing from January 13, 1896 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Feby 12, 1896.

Transcriber's Notes:

The departure port is listed as simply Panama.  Research indicates this is 
Panama City.

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
There is a signature at the bottom of the list: "Arthur de Cima, US Consul at 
Mazatlan Feb 4/96."

The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not 
included in the table: 
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco  
 Whether having a ticket to final destination=yes 
 By whom was passage paid?=self 
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no 

Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

Passenger Notes:
1  is going to meet wife 406 29th St.
2  is going to meet sister, Jesus Yendo de Esquivel.  Last Residence is 
   misspelled.
3  in the Occupatiion column cook is crossed out, replaced by Farmer.
4  is going to meet uncle, aunts.
5  is going to meet wife uncles.
9  is going to meet Father.
10 is going to meet Brother.
