LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. San Juan, sailing from Panama July 9, 1895 arriving at Port of San Francisco, July 31, 1895.
Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Married or Single, Occupation, Able to Read & Write, Nationality, Last Residence, Final Destination in the US, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend

Transcriber's Notes:

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.

At the bottom of the page there is a note: "Mazatlan Mex. July 25th 1895 
Arthur de Cima, US Consul."

The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not
included in the table:
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco  
 Whether having a ticket to final destination=yes
 By whom was passage paid?=self 
 Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?=yes 
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no 
Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

Passenger Notes:
 2    is going to join daughter.
 3    is going to join wife. San Bardino Co. probably refers to San Bernardino 
      County, Calif.
 4    is going to join brother, sister.
 5    is going to join brother, mother.
 6    is going to join wife in Oakland.
 9    first name is Gustano or Gustavo.
11    is going to join Mother.
12    is going to join wife.
14    is going to join brother and sisters.
16    is going to join Mother and Father.
17    is going to join Father.  Health column says "see note."  However, the 
      only note is the signature referred to in Transcriber's Notes.  
18    is going to join sisters and brothers.
20    is going to join sisters.
18-20 Esparza is spelled with a final "a" for 18 and an "e" for 19-20.
21    is going to join daughter.
24    Occupation column says "orphan with Mrs. Luther."  However, she is going 
      to join Father and Mother.
25    is going to join wife.
26    is going to join wife.
32    is going to join Mother and Father.
1-4, 7, 10-11, 14-17, 25-29, 32 are all crossed out, presumably because they 
      are not aliens.
