LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.

Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.

S.S. San Jose, sailing from Panama January 31st, 1896, 1895 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Feby 23, 1896.

Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Married or Single, Occupation, Able to Read & Write, Nationality, Last Residence, Seaport for Landing in the US, Final Destination in the US, Whether having a ticket to final destination, By whom was passage paid?, Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend, Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity, Whether a Polygamist, Whether under contract to labor in the US, Condition of Health Mental and Physical, Whether having any deformities

passage paid by "my brother," no money, never before in the US, joining "my

The departure port is listed as simply Panama.  Research indicates this is 
Panama City.

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
