Transcriber's Personal Notes
Passengers #88 to #91, the Hellert family, are ancestors of the transcriber's wife, Ruth Haseley Grose.
John (Johann) Hellert was the father of her great-grandmother, Caroline Elizabeth Hellert, who was born
in 1847. The Hellerts settled in Bergholz, Niagara County, New York.

Correspondence May 25, 2004 passengers #112-114 SABEBAN
I believe the true surname of passengers #112 through #114 was either Sabann or Sabbann rather than Sabeban.
A pastor Charles Sabann (age 26) appeared in the 1880 census of Altamont, IL, and a pastor Charles Sabbann
(age either 66 or 86, probably the same person) appeared in the 1920 census of North Tonawanda, NY.
Both of these communities were eventual destinations of "Old Lutheran" emigrants.
My independent reading of the name on the 1843 passenger list was "Sabeban."

Correspondence February 7, 2002 passengers #16, 17, 23-27 KLEE
Just viewed the above list on ISTG for the Barque Rainbow arriving in New York August 26, 1843. Passengers
23 &24 were my gg grandfather and grandmother and their three children. The correct spelling of their name
is Klee. Also passengers 16 &17 were Klees, a brother an sister in-law of William Klee. William Klee and
his family settled in Wolcottville, New York until 1872 when they and their grown and married children moved
to Rogers City, Michigan. William Klee was one of the early settlers in this area and served as Belknap
township supervisor for a number of years and was instrumental in the founding of St. Michael's Lutheran
Church in Belknap..
Passengers 16 &17 settled in the county of Niagara, New York.

Correspondence added 4 July 2009; passengers 18-22, 35-41, 49-54, KRULL
Thank you for your transcription of the Barque Rainbow. These Krulls are not yet related to us,
but they are young and come from Preussen (Prussia) near the Mecklenburg border. We could not yet
find old roots. They married to the Hugenotten (Huguenots) and you can easily find the at TribalPages as:
#19 miden name Duckwitz
#36 maiden name Desjardin
#50 maiden name Beccue.
#35, Frederick and #49, Christian are brothers and #18, John is the son of Frederick. It seems that #21,
Justinna, died as a child and they used the given name again in the US. You see yow different ar the ship
lists and the church books and it is a puzzle to identify the persons.
The Krull name has 3 roots:
King=in the Slavic
Curly Hair
Krulle is called the white collar of the early Senators and wives.
The husband to Louise Sophie Dorothea Anicka was named Carl Friedrich Krull and is so documented by
Harold Eugene Krull. I intended to tie Carl Friedrich to my line, because my DNA and Harold's fit.
I found two other wives married to Carl Friedrich Krull, but he was not a bigamist.  Thetwo wives were sisters;
one died and he married her sister. The marriage to Louise Anicka/Anecka/Anikah was unknown. I found her and
her father in the 1819 census, so I assumed, as usually, the marriage should be recorded in theparish of her
father. and indeed the marriage was on 9 March 1821 in the town of Warin and her father was the blacksmith
Christian Wilhelm Anicka and the husband is Carl Ulrich Elias Krull. I believe that Calr Ulrich Elias Krull
must be a cousin to Carl Friedrich Krull, otherwise the DNA would not match.
If anyone has ties to Carl Ulrich Elias Krull and Sophie Dorothea Anicka Krull, please let me know.
Greetings from Hamburg Hans Juergen Krull
