DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Alfred G. Gray, Master of the U. S. Mail Steamship Philadelphia, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Steamship Philadelphia at Havana, Cuba from which port said Steamship Philadelphia has now arrived; and that on said lists is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

List or Manifest Of all the Passengers taken on board the U. S. Mail Steamship Philadelphia whereof Alfred G. Gray is Master, from Havana, Cuba, burthen 1238 10/95 tons.
Columns consist of: Names, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, Part of vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage. All passengers intended to become inhabitants of the United States; that column was omitted. There were no deaths on the voyage; that column was omitted.

Transcriber's Notes:     
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder 
or a questionable issue pertaining to the passenger.  The use of a ? 
indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to quality of original
document or illegible handwriting.
*   Sworn statement signature - May be R Welsh J MColl.  May be J M with Coll 
    meaning Collector of Customs.  The J may have an 'r' after it, making it 
    "Jr".  Many flourishes, so it is hard to tell.
 8  Looks like Sohr, but is obviously with passengers 7 and 9, which are
    Soler.
12  Last name could be Bruzimal.
25  Last name could be Cachs or Carhs.
30  Last name OCallahan did not have apostrophe between O and C.
31  First initial written over; could be S.
32  "I" and "J" are made similarly, this could be Ivan.
40  Last name Beach could be Besch.
42  Last name Fairleigh could be Fairlugh.
45  Last name Care could be Crio or Cuo.
46  Last name View could be Viera, Viere.
47  Last name could be Babbin, Babbio, Babbrio.
48  Last name could be Ferrors or Ferrous.
49  Last name could be Lastra.54,55  Last name could be  Mazyer ('g' and 'y' are hard to tell apart).
