LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. City of Panama, sailing from Panama Dec 12th, 1895 arriving at Port of San Francisco, January 13, 1896.
Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Able to Read & Write, Nationality, Last Residence, Final Destination in the US, Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend

Transcriber's Notes:

The departure port is listed as simply Panama.  Research indicates this is 
Panama City.

There is no captain's statement attached to this manifest.  There is a signature
"Robert R. Bea?le, Master."  This could be Bearle or Beanle.

The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not included in
the table:
 Married or Single=single
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco
 Whether having a ticket to final destination=no (No is written on line one, all other lines
  have ditto marks.)
 By whom was passage paid?=myself
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no

Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

Passenger Notes:
4 Money column says "56 draft on bank."
5 In the Nationality column P E Islands is crossed out, replaced by Japan.
7 money is "39.00 Mex."
8 money is "1.00 Mex."  He is going to join "my brother residing on Filbert St."
