LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.

Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Married or Single, Occupation, Able to Read & Write*, Nationality, Last Residence, Final Destination in the US, Whether having a ticket to final destination, Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend

"SH Jones, Purser" and "Commander" with no name attached are written at the bottom of the manifest. Able to Read and Write has English written in under it. The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not included in the table: Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco By whom was passage paid?=self Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no Whether a Polygamist=no Whether under contract to labor in the US=no Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good Whether having any deformities=no Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?. Passenger Notes: 1 Final Destination is Colton Cal. He is going to meet John W Brown Colton. This line is crossed out, perhaps because he is not an alien. 2 Last Residence is Guadelupe, Mex. He has been to the US in transit. 3 has "15 Mexican equiv of $34 US." He has been to San Fco 12 years. 4 has 20-21 Mex. 3-4 Last Residence is Santiago, Mex.
