SS Nestorian
I, Isaac Goodwin Master of the SS "Nestorian" do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Glasgow, Moville, Galway from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882"; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passeger asto a protracted sojourn in this country. these five passengers meaning they are also "Returned
Cattlemem." I suspect these six were on some sort of
business trip regarding meat or cattle
Passenger #163 - Stowaway Mary Shaw was listed as someone
who was going to "Settle"

Correspondence 10/06/01 passengers 47-52 McClure
I found a relative travelling from Scotland to Boston in 1890. It meant
alot to to me. I had heard family stories about Janet McClure who
travelled to America when she was a child and then made a return
journey because her mom died in America during childbirth. She swore
she had seen a mermaid! What a thrill to find her on her journey!
It also helped me find 3 of her younger sibblings as the last time I
found her was in the 1881 census when she was only 11. It would be
wonderful if you could link my email address, maybe someone else will
stumble on to it.
