LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. Mariposa, sailing from Sydney January 21st, 1895 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Feb 15, 1895.

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not 
included in the table:
 Able to Read & Write=yes(except 29) 
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco  
 Whether having a ticket to final destination=yes (except 20 & 27) 
 By whom was passage paid?=self  
 Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?=more (except 26)
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no 
Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

Passenger Notes:
 1-2  Last Residence is Clifton NSW.
 3-7  Last residence is Melbourne and Sydney.  They are going to join Abraham
      Hirschoritz G.P.O. San Francisco.
 8    has been to New York 1888.  She is going to join Husband, S.F.
11    is going to join Brother in St Louis.
13    is going to join Father-in-law.
14-17 are going to join Mother.  For passengers 15-17 this is indicated by 
      ditto marks.
16    second initial is Y or G.
18    has been to the US 1894.
19    Last Residence is Wellington, N.Z.
20    Last Residence is Ballarat, Victoria.  He has no ticket to final
      destination.  He has been to New York 1845/61.
21    "Not on board" is written beside this name.
22    surname is McKinuore or McKimure.  She is going to join Brothers Sisters 
      Patrick Mahoney Brooklyn, New York.
23    is listed simply as "infant" between rhe lines for passengers 22 and 24.
24    has been to Brooklyn NY 1890.  She is going to join Husband Edw. Davison 
      Post Office San Fran.
25    Son of Edward & Elizabeth Davison in good health is written across the 
      line.
26    First name looks most like Edwin but could be Edward in view of note for 
      passenger 25.  He is recorded as Single.  He has $30.
27    has no ticket to final destination.
28    surname is Fetter or Ketter.
29-30 surname is Mas or Mos. She is not able to read and write.  She is going 
      to join 2 Sisters.
31    has been to Mass and Cal 18 mos ago.
